I think the story was very good. The story made me think about how a doctor has to really know how to do his job in order to really help a person. In the story a 6 year old girl's parents brought her to the doctor and told them something was wrong with her. Jumping around, staring blank into space, (something you would think a 6 year old child does from time to time). The doctor looked at a normal child and was ready to send her off with some Tylenol and call it a day. It takes more then that. When becoming a doctor you have to know the right questions to ask and symptoms a person might have. A person can look at someone and not know what's wrong with that person. A doctor on the other hand has to really look at a person and ask questions about him/her. I think this story really gives me good idea how things really are in the doctor's office and make me think about the things they have to go through.

I agree. Thats why when you're a doctor you should have answers to certain things that people may have questions to. You could be putting a child life in danger because they could have something more serious that needs medical attention not Tylenol. Sounds like a good story that I would like to read. Good job explaning! You got me interested in the story and I haven't even read it.

Im 100% with you on that. Because many times most people don't know what to ask. At the same time everybody makes mistakes and we are all just people.

I agree. One of my favorite things about the stories we read was the insight we got into how this emergency room doctor sees his patients. He seemed to think he was lucky to catch the little girl's medical problem but I think he was probably just really good at asking the right questions instinctively. You guys did a great job discussing these short stories and thinking about the issues they raised. I had fun! If you want to read more of them, let me know.
